How to choose metal coils for metal exterior wall panels?
Powder coated aluminum coils are recommended for exterior walls, with priority given to 3 series (such as 3003, 3004).
Powder coated aluminum coils are recommended for exterior walls, with priority given to 3 series (such as 3003, 3004). Next, 1 series or 5 series can be selected according to needs, and different series are suitable for different scenarios:

1. Preferred 3 series aluminum coil (most commonly used)
The 3 series aluminum coil is mainly composed of manganese element as the main alloy component. Its core advantages are excellent rust prevention performance, higher strength than pure aluminum, and moderate cost-effectiveness. It fully meets the basic requirements of moisture resistance and deformation resistance for exterior walls, and is the mainstream choice for exterior wall decoration, curtain walls, and ceilings. The 3004 series, due to the addition of magnesium element, has higher strength than 3003 and can be used in exterior wall scenarios with higher performance requirements. Currently, there are also ready-made 3004 color coated aluminum coil products available in the market.
2. Low cost option: 1 series aluminum coil
The 1 series belongs to pure aluminum coils (with an aluminum content of over 99%, such as 1050 and 1060), which have the advantages of good ductility, good corrosion resistance, and low price. However, they have low strength and are only suitable for non load bearing exterior wall decorations (such as billboards and simple wall decorations). They are not suitable for main exterior wall structures with high stress, and are also a conventional substrate series for color coated aluminum coils.
